Who is the CAT1 for?

Why

Patients with COPD of varying severity

Patients diagnosed with all severities of COPD were included in the development and validation of the CAT.

Patients with different reading abilities

The CAT uses a simple scale and basic language making it readily interpretable and usable for patients.

Patients being treated outside of the UK or US

tick

The development of the CAT included data from patients in the US and Europe, and the CAT Development Steering Group believe that it is globally applicable. A validation study is currently ongoing in China.

Patients whose first language isn’t English

The simplicity of the CAT means that it can be used by patients with even a very basic English language. In the future, the CAT will also be translated into other languages.
